The abilities to perceive, understand, and manage emotions are essential to navigating the social world. But the social world also plays a critical role in shaping how we perceive, understand, and manage our emotions. As a doctoral researcher, I study how social interactions shape human cognitions and emotions with implications for relationship quality and well-being. I aim to promote emotional intelligence in how we understand ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
Outside of research, I like to cook, surf, and watch movies. On an ideal day off, I can enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sun rise, spend the day outdoors with friends, and end with a family-style meal.
